“Every time I walk by Timber’s picture it makes me smile”
Transform your beloved pet into a stunning masterpiece with our museum-quality, large-format artistic prints—because every furry friend deserves to be celebrated in style.
To showcase the beauty and personality of your best friend we make dramatic prints. Not only are the images large (thus, requiring the quality you get with professional studio lighting and equipment), but also printed with special inks on museum quality archival paper.
There is a fair amount of detail on this page, but it’s actually really easy. Just make an appointment, bring your best friend to the studio, and you have a memorable art piece.

1. WHAT IS INCLUDED
The photo session
Of course, the photo session is included, but it is just the start. By the way, it actually a lot of fun (yes it takes patience, but posing pets usually involves a few good laughs).
Professional Retouching
There is always that bit of slobber we missed on set, or stray hair or the four legged model tracks dirt onto the backdrop; see Q&A for our retouching philosophy.)
Museum Quality Print
The basic package in based on a 36” by 24” museum quality print. These are much higher quality than your local drug store prints (hey, those are great for snap shots and large prints for science projects – they just don’t have the ante fade and, most importantly, the detail we provide).
If a different size better fits your décor (or sometimes a different crop proportion works better for the image you love) let’s do it. Helpful hint: there are some “standard sizes” that frames come in; so, if you want to avoid a completely custom frame you may want to go with one of them.
40 inch x 27 inch | 36 inch x 24 inch | 30 inch x 20 inch | 28 inch x 22 inch |
24 inch x 20 inch | 24 inch x 24 inch | 24 inch x 18 inch | 20 inch x 16 inch |
Plus: Image Files
One of the big differences in pet portraiture versus people portraiture is the shooting style. Unlike people, pets typically don’t cooperate well when we say “would you move your nose two inches to the left”. So, we have to take oodles of shots to get a handful of really great ones. What that means is that there are probably going to be many shots you like. And why let them go to waste, if you would like the image files, we are happy to provide them. *
*Note the traditional portrait business used to charge a “sitting fee” then charge for each prints afterward. We are happy to have our clients use images for social media, or whatever. Remember any time you work with photographers ask if you have ownership and access to all of the images (a lot of people assume that and then are disappointed).
2. OPTIONS
Framing of the print is optional. We can frame your print, though most pet parents want to handle the framing themselves in order to match their décor. There are many framing services in the area including the big box stores which do a nice job, with simple frames starting at around $60 (that is all in: the frame, assembly, glass; all done and typically while you wait).
One final suggestion. If your artwork is going to be hanging where there if a lot of reflected light you may want to opt for optional museum quality glass. It cuts down reflection and also adds UV protection (we recommend not hanging any artwork in direct sunlight regardless of the glass).
3. PRICING
The price of $399 includes (as detailed above) the shoot, retouching, the museum quality print, and all the files to use as you wish. Everything but the frame; we can take care of the frame too, the cost depends on the specific frame.
4. WHAT IS THE PROCESS
We typically shoot at a studio in Edmonds, Washington. It’s got all the lights and equipment needed for shooting the large art prints that are our specialty. Plus, we have a set up for dogs, cats and occasionally other critters.
Call us and book time. At the shoot it typically takes about an hour to get four legged models to strut their stuff. After the shoot we delete all the shots where your best friend simply wasn’t cooperating in their posing. Then we send all the “keepers” to you to select the winner. Once selected, the file (picture) goes to the retoucher (there is always that stray hair or bit of slobber). Then your final approval. Then the file goes to our printer. The final print is carefully packaged and shipped to you.
